School Uniform

School uniform

We believe the wearing of school uniform plays a key role in promoting pride, self-confidence and a sense of belonging within the school community. School uniform has also been shown to improve behaviour and create a level playing field, thereby reducing peer pressure and bullying. As such, we expect parents and carers to support our school uniform policy and staff will contact you if your child's daily uniform is falling below expected standards.

Main school uniform:

  • red polo shirt (with or without school logo)
  • royal blue jumper (with or without school logo)
  • black trousers, shorts, culottes or skirt
  • optional – blue or red /white check summer dress for Summer term
  • black tights
  • black socks
  • black shoes – no trainers, logos or branding

PE kit:

  • red t shirt (with or without school logo)
  • black leggings/trousers/shorts
  • trainers

Jewellery and accessories:

  • Children should not wear jewellery to school. Children who have their ears pierced should wear a pair of small studs.

Hair

In the interests of safety, practicality and hygiene, long hair i.e. shoulder length or longer, must be tied back during school hours. This is particularly important during PE and swimming.

Grade 1 hair cuts are not acceptable and Grade 2 haircuts should be applied with caution. Pupils should not have their hair or eyebrows shaved. Therefore, styles such as tramlines/patterns, dreadlocks, Mohicans, highlights or dyed hair are not allowed.

Children may wear a watch to school. We encourage the use of analogue watches to practice the skill of telling the time, but if digital watches are worn, they should have no additional features or functionality (e.g. messaging, calling, photography, gaming) – Smart watches are not allowed in school.
