Welcome

Welcome to the Port Isaac Community Primary School Website

Port Isaac CP School is a friendly village primary school situated in the historic fishing village of Port Isaac. We are very much a community school and Port Isaac is a wonderfully warm and giving community that place our school at the centre.

Our School Motto

‘Kara Dyski - Love Learning’

Our school motto 'Love Learning' embodies our commitment to nurturing a lifelong love for knowledge in our children.  We encourage them to embrace every learning opportunity with enthusiasm and curiosity.

‘Kara Dyski’ is the Cornish translation of ‘Love Learning’ and reflects a deep pride in our Cornish heritage.

Our School Values

Our values  make our school a wonderful place to learn and grow together.

Our values are not just words on a wall; we are dedicated to creating a school ethos where these values are demonstrated daily and where each child feels valued and supported.  These values are at the heart of our school culture and shape the experiences and education we provide here at Port Isaac CP School.

Our commitment to these values extends beyond the classroom. Together, as a school community, we can help our children grow into compassionate and capable individuals. As parents and carers, you play a significant role in reinforcing these values at home. Your partnership with us is invaluable, and we welcome open communication to ensure that our shared values are consistently upheld.

Aspiration

We dream big and believe in ourselves to achieve our goals.

Community

Our school is a family, we belong, and together we thrive.

 Respect

We show we value and appreciate others.

 Resilience

We are motivated to learn; challenges are opportunities to grow.

Joy

We find happiness and a sense of pride in our achievements.

The school is well supported by The Doc Martin fund , Doc Martin being a TV programme that was filmed here for many years and has made the village known the world over. The fund subsidises many aspects of our extra-curricular provision and help us to create the ‘magic’ that school days should involve. We work with local artists who share their skills and passions with us. Our village is rich with creativity and is home to The Fisherman's Friends and many artists. It is steeped in history and we are very proud of our Cornish heritage.

Friends of School are an active groups who fundraise to pay for our trips and visits,  They host an array of events across the year and are always on the lookout for new members, so please get in touch.

I hope you find our website informative, we are currently in the process of updating the content, if there is something you would like to know, please do not hesitate to contact the school.
